Kelley and I met when we were four or five years old at a dog show in Maryland, and we've been friends ever since.  Over the last few years, our friendship has grown stronger with the help of girls' weekends, lots of wine, good food, and some really fun times.  I cannot even remember when I first met Susan as she so effortlessly blended into our friendship, it was like we had been a trio since we were young.  However, I will remember the night when Kelley, Matt and I went out to dinner after a long dog show day, Kelley looked over the table at us and said, "I need to tell you something…"  That night, she told us how much she loved Susan, and that they were going to be getting married.  Months later, with careful planning, Pinteresting of photos, and lots of egging on of Susan (who hates photos), we took a full day and traveled to meet them in Maryland for some engagement photos.  Starting at Kelley's parents' new house in Bel Air, we walked out to the creek in the back 40 and then spent time on the gorgeous tree lined driveway.  Since Collies have always been a part of Kelley's life, she wanted her and Susan's 'Twinkle' in a few shots, but of course, we couldn't help but include the rest of the dogs too.  We even added in a book from world famous author and Collie lover, Albert Payson Terhune.  From there, we traveled to downtown Annapolis for a stroll and some more photos.  It was a long day, but nothing short of incredible with the leaves fantastic shades of gold, burnt orange, and dark and light reds, the pier perfectly windy, the day slightly overcast, and the temperature wonderfully temperate.

100 days from today, Kelley and Susan will walk down the aisle to one another and say “I Do” on September 26, 2015.  Cheers!

Katelyn and Jason were referred to us through a very good mutual friend about two months ago and I was told that, like me, Katelyn was a 2010 University of Mary Washington grad with a major in English.  Immediately I was excited to meet her and see if we recognized each other from any of the classes that we inevitably took together.  At that first meeting, we swapped old English major stories and talked about their October 2012 wedding.

Just this past weekend, Matt and I met up with Katelyn and Jason at Great Falls Park in Great Falls, VA.  The weather was beautiful and Fall colored leaves were everywhere.  We spent two hours walking, talking, laughing and shooting some great photos of a couple in love.  Katelyn did not tell me what antics Jason had and him and Matt got along great.  We finally had to conclude when Katelyn exclaimed it was time for football with the family.  Look for upcoming photos of Katelyn??™s bridal portraits, her bridal shower, and their wedding throughout the course of next year, culminating on Oct. 6, 2012.

Well these two shoots were somewhat of a special shoot for us… Who am I kidding this is a VERY SPECIAL shoot to us! Since this is our sister and now brother-in-law! The first day of shooting took place at the good ol' Fredericksburg Fair where we all had a wild time, even though we were rained on. The next day we all took a day trip to my favorite place in Virginia, that's Skyline Drive!

What a fun shoot this was!

Rachel and Edwin recently became engaged in late 2010, and while they have already picked a photographer, Rachel asked Michelle for a fun picture for their Save the Date postcards. Rachel came across this fantastic idea online and modified it with Michelle to suit Edwin??™s concerns (a business owner with ink on his face?), using eyeliner instead of pen or marker.

Going into the shoot, Michelle had the picture in her mind, but Matt wanted the couple to have ”backup” photos just in case the idea did not work out. Two hours later, Michelle snapped this goofy photograph of a wonderful couple sharing a happy moment.
